We Need Your Help!

A regular donation of £10 will provide a family of four with a weekly food pack.

You can contribute to the work of The Food Point by:

Making a regular donation
We believe in equity for all and community solidarity. A monthly donation from those in G41 able to afford it will enable The Food Point to continue to provide support to those in our community struggling to feed themselves and their families. Every monthly donor receives a free poster!

Volunteering
We need volunteers to staff The Food Point on Sundays and Mondays, between 2pm and 5pm; to make deliveries by car or bike; to pick-up food donations by car; or to get involved in regular hot food cooking and community food events. Email hello@pollokshieldsfoodpoint.org if interested.

Donating food
We rely on the generosity of the residents of G41 and regular donations of food and household items. We accept donations at 423 Shields Road between 2pm and 3pm on Sunday and Monday every week.

Pollokshields Mutual Aid (PMA) is a group of residents in G41, Glasgow, who came together at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to support each other and those in need in our community. PMA opened Pollokshields Community Food Point in April 2020 at 423 Shields Road, in partnership with Southside Housing Association and other local partners. Since then 14,500 household food packs based on choice have been provided.

Run by volunteer community members, The Food Point has developed as a community connection point, where relationships, confidence and skills are built as well as food support provided. The Food Point continues to work with the ethos of mutual aid, connecting closely with the broader Glasgow Mutual Aid network.

In 2021 The Food Point became a charity with local volunteers taking on trustee roles. More information on The Food Point, including our opening times can be found here.

Pollokshields Mutual Aid organises support and undertakes regular projects in addition to The Food Point. To find out more about volunteering, current and past projects look here
